This free online program will provide an update on what work is being conducted on a systemic level to effectuate change in the family regulatory system. It will include an overview of the family court bills that were introduced last session, and their current status. There will be a discussion of how the proposed bills would affect family defense practice. Among the bills to be discussed are the “ACD” and the Preserving Family Bonds bill. There will be an opportunity for Q&A and discussion, as well as information on individual attorneys can join the coalition.

This program is intended for family defense attorneys and other members of the defense team, including investigators, paralegals, social workers, parent advocates, and mitigation specialists.

NYSDA has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider of Continuing Legal Education in the State of New York (2022–2025) in traditional and nontraditional formats. This transitional/nontransitional program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the Continuing Legal Education Board for experienced attorneys–a maximum of 1.5 credit hours in professional practice. No CLE credit may be earned for repeat attendance at any accredited CLE activity.
